Let's Go Crafting offers private lessons by appointment. Schedule yours now! Today I worked with a student on her own machine. Her bobbin was jammed so she learned how to fix that and then went on to make a pair of pajama pants.
All kinds of good sewing going on! We have the cover to a bean bag, a pet bed, jammie pants and a stuffed animal being created!
We have the start of a padded computer envelope, measuring and pinning of the hem on some pajama pants, and ironing.
And a free form elephant head. I can't wait to see it when it's finished! So many different projects being created in class!
Our adult classes are in full swing!
Working on different projects! It will be fun to see the finishes and starts next Tuesday!
Monday was a fantastic day in the studio!! Our students asked to listen to the soundtrack from "High School Musical" so we were rockin' out to that. I couldn't believe how sweet it was to hear them all singing along as we worked on our projects!
After finishing the panda, this student started a pillow as an end-of-year teacher’s gift.
There was also weaving, cutting out a new project, hand sewing and machine sewing happening in the studio. WHEW!! So much done in one class!
We did so many fun things today!
Our fabric bowls were done and ready to go home. Aren’t they so beautiful!! Those that hadn’t quite finished, were able to finish.
We did some fabric painting. This week I will be turning them into pillows for the students. Shhh!! It’s a surprise!
We also made dolls from empty toilet paper rolls! I love recycling!
Our adult class is moving right along!! Lots of sewing happening!
I can't wait for next week - finished projects and new starts!
Monday in the studio this past week was so fun! We had...
Starts of two new projects.
Weaving.
And more sewing. So many good things happening in the studio!
Preschoolers are so much fun! They love messy art and non-messy art and everything else in between.
We worked on finishing our fabric bowls. These are the same as the ones we are making with the tween class, just on a smaller scale.
We also did some weaving. I made little looms out of popsicle sticks and precut some yarn and we were ready! This project was so much fun. This project great because it encourages and builds small motor skills. We talk about different color combinations. We also talk about the textures and thickness of the yarns which encourages attention to details. Great crafts – great impacts!
Let's Go Crafting helps you host your child's birthday party. We provide all the supplies and materials necessary for the party and you get to sit back and relax! For the party this past Saturday, the birthday girl chose a panda bear stuffed animal for her project. All the party goers made one and were thrilled!
We precut all the fabrics so the party can get right to sewing. There is usually a combination of hand and machine sewing. Children as young as 8 years old can do this!
Everyone goes home with a finished project! This is such a fun birthday party and one that is different than most! Let us know if we can host your child's next party!
Fridays we are at the Palo Alto Art Center. I can't believe how much fun this class is!
We worked on finishing our fabric bowls. Our students put the final layer of fabric on the inside of the bowl – next Friday we will roll out our final product!
We also worked on some handsewing and made…
Ladybug bean bags!!

The preschool class on Monday is such a joy to teach. The students are all so excited to participate in all the activities!
We added fabric to the outside our paper mache bowls. Next week we will add fabric to the inside of our bowls and finish them up.
We also made popsicle stick people which was a HUGE hit!! All of the children made multiple people and many of them made families! It was so fun to see what each student did with the materials provided.
On Fridays I teach a fiber arts class at the Art Center. It's super fun and the kids are great.Another one not pictured, became a bracelet. These students have so many good ideas!
A whole lot of fun and work happened on Monday!
The finishing touches being done.

Let's Go Crafting is offering private lessons! Private lessons are a great way to get one-on-one time to learn how to use your own machine, perfect a skill or just learn to sew. For lessons held at our studio, we provide all the supplies. If we travel to your home we provide a supply list of everything you need. Both options work really well. This past Saturday we had a fourth grader join us for a private lesson.
Heard in Friday's class: "I LOVE messy art!!". We were creating the base for our fabric bowls our of paper mache and the kids were totally involved.
Stay tuned for next week as we add the fabric!!
We also put on the finishing touches to our rainbow fleece scarves. Everyone made pompoms for the ends of their scarves! Unfortunately, I did not get any finished pictures of this, but they were very pretty and warm.
Monday in the studio was an exciting day!I love working in the studio! There is so much energy and excitement here!
