This fun, cute and easy fabric elephant is a great creative outlet for today. Pick up your needle and thread and make a herd of elephants!! Link to pattern and tutorial HERE.
I can’t believe that Halloween is actually here. We have had such a great time creating Halloween costumes during Let’s Go Crafting’s Halloween Workshops!!
This student decided to make something for her little brother. A cute little pig romper. How sweet is that?!!
All of these are original ideas! A shark cape - you have to LOVE those teeth and the cute ribbon!
The minion costume pattern was drafted from an old t-shirt as was the yellow skittles costume. Talk about getting a perfect fit! Making clothes from clothes you already own is such a great skill to have!
Four full body suit costumes! Lots of work, but boy did it pay off!
Then we have Totoro - a costume thought up by this student and created here at Let’s Go Crafting!
The panda hoodie is so cute! As is the sushi hat! All original ideas thought up by these students. I really LOVE helping to bring ideas to fruition!!!
Donation workshops have become an important part of Let’s Go Crafting offerings. Every month we hold a workshop where children ages 2nd grade through high school come and make things that are donated to local organizations. Donation workshops are completely free. All skills levels are welcome, all supplies are included and light snacks are provided.
This month, on Saturday, August 31st from 9:00am-12:00pm, we are sewing quilt tops (I will finish the quilts) to donate to the Veterans Administration in Palo Alto.
Past donation workshops have focused on making cat/dog beds for Pets In Need in Palo Alto,
and making tote bags that were filled with all kinds of goodies such as shampoo, conditioner, toothbrushes, tooth paste, floss, soap etc to benefit Downtown Streets Team in Palo Alto.
It is so rewarding to be offering donation workshops. This community means so much to me and it’s just feels right to be giving back and helping our youth of today to do the same. Have your kids join us in August or another time in the future. We have a great time!
We always have such a great time in camp!!!
We make sure that each student learns the skills they need to create and finish the projects they dream. Some students made hats with the circle loom.
Other students sewed and made pin cushions and pillows. Students can choose to move across different disciplines as the mood strikes them.
Students wove on rigid heddle looms and frame looms. They made bags with zippers and straps in all shapes and sizes.
Just look at all those fun “pets”!! Notice the added zippers and keychain rings! Those additions are completely new ideas from the students for their pets.
As you can probably tell, our students are simply amazing using their new skills and I can only imagine how far they will take their projects.
Camp last week was such a blast!!
A sewing folio, complete with two side zippered pockets, one of them with a vinyl covering, pincushion, needle minder and smaller pockets!!
Weaving scarves!
Sewing hairbands and scrunchies!
Bags and cases!
Quilted and pieced items!
Jewelry Galore!!
Stuffies!!
What a fantastic week!! I can't wait to meet our students this coming week!
Our first camp of summer is in full swing and we are having a blast!!! We already have lots of finished projects:
Pajama Pants – love those little hedgehogs!!
Bracelets, Scrunchies and Head Bands!
Pillows with applique are really popular. The pillow with the hedgehog applique….those are actually pockets!
We also have weaving and crochet happening in camp. Students really do get to choose their form of fiber art!
And lots and lots of creativity! I can’t wait for camp to start today to see what these students will come up with!

Hi Everyone!
We have been having a lot of fun in our adult classes! Some students are working on memory quilts as gifts, some on bags, dresses and stuffed animals.
There are now two options for class:
Thursdays from 1:00pm to 2:30pm and
Tuesdays from 7:00pm to 8:30pm.
Come join us to learn to sew, knit, crochet or weave. Brush up on skills or learn new ones. $25.00 per class. All supplies, materials and tools provided.
Please let me know if you are interested and would like to join us!
Our adult classes cover a wide range of projects. Clothing, pillows, decorations, quilts, you name it, we can most likely make it happen! This adult blue skirt was the mastermind idea of this mom. She came to class with a dress that didn't quite fit the way she wanted and we turned it into a skirt with a ruffle for her to wear at her daughter's colonial simulation day! Job well done!So many things to learn!!
We were working away...
I love it when kids want to celebrate their birthdays at Let's Go Crafting!! In this case, the birthday girl picked a pattern that she really like and we made that as our project.
These are just some of the cute little puppies that they made at the party.
Decorated and ready!
We organized another fun-filled birthday party this past weekend!
Before any party, we make sure all the pieces necessary for the project and the tools needed are all set up and ready to go.
Once the guests arrive, they pick their fabrics and get started right away. Here they are cutting out and attaching the eyes.
I don't know how they do it, but each student manages to pick the perfect eyes to go with their owl.
Each owl turns out different and totally cute. Some of the party goers decided to add embellishments to their owls. I really love when this happens!
Such cute tail feathers!
